Opportunity Programs
Who We Serve
We serve school-age youth from diverse backgrounds, focusing on those experiencing financial and social barriers to participation.
Our Approach
At Can Play, our dedicated staff and organization are committed to providing inclusive, accessible recreational sports programs for kids of all abilities and backgrounds. We create and deliver programs that are free or low-cost, ensuring families facing financial barriers have equal opportunities to participate. Our team fosters supportive, engaging environments that encourage growth, build confidence, and create a strong sense of belonging. Through partnerships with community organizations, schools, and recreation departments, we expand access, secure vital resources, and continuously enhance our programs. We are passionate about breaking down barriers so every child has the chance to play without limits.

After School Programs
We’re thrilled to partner with Des Moines and West Des Moines schools to offer after-school programs for their students. This spring, we’ll be bringing our programs to Willard and Riverwoods Elementary Schools in Des Moines, and Crestview School of Inquiry in West Des Moines.
